Email Server Connectivity Issue

Hello Support Team,

We're experiencing a critical issue with our email server. Multiple users across the organization are unable to send emails from Outlook. The error message displayed is "Cannot connect to server".

This started happening around 8:00 AM this morning and is affecting approximately 15-20 users. We've tried restarting Outlook and checking internet connectivity, but the issue persists.

Steps we've already tried:

  • Restarted Outlook application
  • Checked internet connection
  • Verified email account settings
  • Restarted workstations

This is affecting our business operations as we cannot communicate with clients via email. Please prioritize this issue.

Thank you for reporting this issue. I've reviewed the screenshots and logs you provided. It appears this is related to a server configuration change that occurred during our routine maintenance.

I'm currently working on resolving this and expect to have it fixed within the next 30 minutes. I'll update you as soon as the issue is resolved.

In the meantime, your team can use the webmail portal at https://mail.company.com as a temporary workaround.

Hi John,

Great news! The issue has been resolved. The problem was caused by an incorrect SMTP port configuration that was changed during maintenance.

What was fixed:

  • Corrected SMTP server port settings
  • Updated authentication credentials
  • Verified connectivity across all user accounts

All users should now be able to send emails normally. Please test from a few workstations and confirm everything is working properly.
